Background
Kathleen grew up in a Christian home and depending on where her
family moved, they would attend the local Lutheran Church. Many
times during her childhood, she would attend other Sunday Schools
and Vacation Bible Schools in other churches such as Church of
Christ, Baptist, and Disciples of Christ. In her senior year of High
School she re-dedicated her life to Christ. Her father, Claude,
retired from being a sales engineer and is now a minister for a
Congregational Church in El Dorado, CA and with Marti, my “other”
mom, also own “Books and Bears”.

She currently has a B.A. degree in Business Human Resource
Management from Simpson University, an A.A. degree in Early

Non-Profit World
Her “mission work” at the Crisis Pregnancy Center (later called
CareNet) began when staying temporarily in the home of Roger & Joann
Ralston, this home was to be the beginning of the CPC ministry, a
maternity home housing 3 pregnant women at the time. While she was
walking past the living room one evening a “steering committee for
the formation of a Pregnancy Ministry” asked the question of how to
raise funds this was to be her beginning and introduction to the CPC
ministry.
She started out in the summer of 1984 coordinating CPC’s various
fundraising activities. In September 1984 she attended CPC’s first
volunteer counselor training seminar and in October 1984 became a
volunteer counselor. Later she joined the speaking team in 1985. She
became full-time paid staff in 1988 as Assistant
Director/Development Director and in 1994 became Executive Director.
She has attended numerous Bible Seminars/Workshops; Worship Leaders

Orthodoxy
After over 10 years of study and research, Kathleen made a major
life decision and on September 20, 2003, Kathleen was Baptized and
Chrismated into the Holy Eastern Orthodox Christian Church and given
the new name Kieranna, after the Irish Saint Kieran of Clonmacnois.
A Sabbatical
In March 2003, as Executive Director of the Crisis Pregnancy
Center she resigned for a much needed sabbatical. After taking her
much needed sabbatical she decided to go into business and have
“fun” using her wide variety of abilities, giving her the
flexibility she desired and at the same time generate the income she
needed.

Kathleen began her web design and computer background
by “learning on the job”. If something needed doing or figuring out
that is how she learned. She created her first website while working
at CPC. Over the years she has worked on other people’s websites.
After joining St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church she created another
website for the church. She primarily uses Microsoft FrontPage 2003
for basic web design but can also use Adobe GoLive v.6.

Kathleen began learning the computer when the world
was DOS commands only. Her father was (and still is a MAC user) and
in her younger days she did work for her father’s business during
the summer. She later entered the world of Windows and has worked
her way through the first version of Windows up to Windows XP. She
is proficient in various computer software programs including:
Microsoft Office, Word, Publisher, Access, Excel, PowerPoint,
